What to Look For
Not All Software is Alike!

There are many things to consider when selecting the right practice management software and after researching over 120 software programs, and helping over 1500 practices, we can easily state "all software is not alike!"

Many software programs look very similar and this makes it difficult to know what to look for, or more specifically what to watch out for.

Absolute Requirements

Multiple Cases

Each patient can have unlimited cases simultaneously (think of cases as sub-accounts).  A patient that is a cash patient and later gets hurt on the job (W/C).  Later still they are injured in an auto accident. (Personal Injury)  Each of these examples would be a new case.  Why open a whole new account for each case?

Workflow ... Workflow ... Workflow!!

Easy Case Access from any Patient window!

Unlike other software (if they have multiple case capability), accessing different patient cases is tedious.  Usually you have to close one case to open another case.  Quixote allows easy access from any patient tab.

Example:  Looking at the work comp ledger and want to quickly look at the patient's insurance ledger, just click on insurance in the case window conveniently and always located on the lower left.

Case Status

Quixote allows you to assign a case status, so cases that are closed or waiting for payment are not included in the active cases.  This saves time and reduces possible posting and scheduling errors to closed or pending cases.

Ledger

Absolutely the easiest and most versatile ledger of any software program!  Your staff can customize their views and see everything from one window!  (No switching between insurance ledger and patients ledgers, yikes!)  Efficiency and Workflow, that's Quixote!

Document Storage

Unlike the few software programs that have document storage capability (x-rays, insurance cards, EOB's, photos, documents, etc.), Quixote actually stores these in the patient records.

Conditions (Diagnosis)

What happens when you need to re-bill a claim?

Do you have to confirm what the diagnosis was on the claim you need to resubmit?

And if it’s different than the current diagnosis, do you have to:

  •  delete the current diagnosis
  •  re-enter the old diagnosis
  •  submit the claim
  •  delete the old diagnosis
  •  re-enter the current diagnosis

What happens if you forget any of these steps?

Quixote keeps track of the diagnosis history by “Effective Date”.   The "Effective Date" is the date that you would like Quixote to start using this Condition (diagnosis).

With Quixote, when the doctor gives a new or updated diagnosis, the staff just enters the effective date for the new or updated diagnosis then enters the diagnosis.  That's it!  When billing, or resubmitting a claim, Quixote automatically looks at the dates of service that will be submitted and selects the correct condition / diagnosis based on the “effective date”.

This assures correct billing easily and effortlessly.

  • Resubmit claims with the correct diagnosis(s), effortlessly!
  • Each patient can have unlimited cases simultaneously, (i.e. W/C, PI, Cash, etc.).

And each case can have unlimited conditions.  Wow!

Workflow ... Workflow ... Workflow!!
